Searidge is currently recruiting for a Platform Developer Co-op with a good understanding of platform development – primarily in a Cloud Native environment. The successful candidate will be involved in code reviews, design discussions for our platform products, bug fixes, and new features and platform development. This will be a co-op term position, reporting to the Platform Lead. 


Responsibilities

  • Design, implementation, review, and testing new platform components (infrastructure, management, monitoring) and tooling
  • Design and improvements to existing platform components (infrastructure, management, monitoring) to support reliable and scalable applications
  • Implementation and improvements to CI/CD pipelines, automation, and deployment processes
  • Develop utilities, scripts, automation, and internal tools to support operations and engineering workflows
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair platform services, infrastructure, and automation scripts
  • Produce platform documentation, manuals, user guides, and technical documentation
  • Interface with internal stakeholders to gather platform requirements and support testing and adoption

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree
  • Some experience working with Linux-based systems 
  • Some exposure to cloud infrastructure, containers, or Kubernetes (coursework, labs, or personal projects)
  • Familiarity with scripting or programming (e.g., Python, Bash, Go, or similar)
  • Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts and automation pipelines
  • Some knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, load balancing, TCP/IP)
  • Experience with Git, issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira), and developer workflows
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Must be a team player, curious, and eager to learn platform and infrastructure concepts

Bonus Qualifications

  • Understanding of Helm charts or other Kubernetes packaging tools
  • Familiarity with message brokers (e.g., Kafka) 
  • Exposure to datastores (e.g., Cassandra, PostgreSQL, Redis) 
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity threats, solutions, and best practices
  • Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tools or concepts
  • Familiarity with multiple languages in addition to English
